Scaffolding tells the tale of the experiences and missteps of Javier Montes who returns to Montevideo after twelve years of exile full of nostalgia, prejudice and solitude. Javier raises the scaffolding as a means of creating a new world that embodies all his hopes.
The fragmentary structure, of a work under construction, in which the elements at stake - dialogues, thoughts, dreams, letters and poems - appear in no particular order, will eventually present the reader with a perfectly finished building: that of the former exile.
