Miguel Horacio Dreamfield goes to a private screening of the film Casablanca. Him bearing witness of those imagined lives crushes his idea of the world, it takes away its own sense, it steals his soul. Dreamfield brings his hops up with a scene of the film, just one, and with hunger for the intangible and transcendent, he decides to turn up his life into a film. So, he starts for emulating Bogart's life in his most famous film. What is the enigma of life? How can we value it, measure it, weight it? When, in what situation, can we say that something was worth it? In which situations could we say that, even though the effort is massive, it is useless? Dreamfield asks himself these questions and the only way he finds to answer them is by pursuing his desires. He abandons his life and builds a new one in a world where always sounds the music of Casablanca and Humphrey Bogart's words: I'm waiting for a lady, I know she is coming back.
This novel has a twin, Geography of the Illusion, published by Taurus which through four essays complements, and sometimes explains, the avatars M.H. Dreamfield plunges himself into.
