Like language, proper control of a football is – even with good hands and feet – a creative challenge. In this collection of football stories, re-published and extended (with the inclusion of the powerful story ‘Pitches’), Sasturain documents the two things that kept him going as a young man recently arrived in Buenos Aires, both of which would become life-long passions: literature and football. His career in Literature (an estimable one that has extended into several different genres and become ever more personal and Sasturainian) went rather better than his trial for San Lorenzo and brief time at Lanús. He soon hung up his boots and moved onto to another playing field. These stories show that it was a pretty good decision.
